Bio:
I’m Kay, a longtime content creator, cosplayer, software engineer, and entrepreneur.
For more than 15 years, I’ve worked professionally in game development, helping build and launch more than 20 titles while growing from hands-on engineering into leadership and entrepreneurship. Over the years, I’ve built and run businesses across entertainment, events, creator management, and technology. These experiences that taught me how to lead teams, manage partnerships, build brands, create revenue streams, and turn creative ideas into something sustainable.
That path eventually led me to become the CEO and Co-Founder of AVRwell, where I lead the team developing immersive technology for healthcare and rehabilitation. AVRwell has pushed me even further as a business leader, teaching me how to navigate fundraising, partnerships, product strategy, team building, and the realities of taking an ambitious idea from concept toward a scalable company. I’ve learned how to make the hard decisions that come with being responsible for something bigger than myself and it also made me realize how much I love helping other people understand the business behind what they create.
At the same time, I’ve spent more than a decade building my own creator brand. Cosplay, performing, conventions, content creation, brand partnerships, and live events have taken me across North America and given me the chance to work with brands like Logitech, Square Enix, Gamer Supps, and Raid: Shadow Legends.
Those two sides of my life — creator and business leader — eventually started to overlap in a much bigger way.
After years of navigating brand deals, collaborations, events, networking, and the business side of being a creator, I kept seeing the same problem: creators are expected to operate like businesses, but the platforms we use were never really designed to help us do that.
So I decided to build one.
Today, I’m the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Duality, a creator-focused professional platform built to help creators connect, collaborate, discover opportunities, grow their businesses, and turn their skills and audiences into something sustainable.
A big part of this next chapter for me is sharing what I’ve learned along the way, not just about content creation, but about understanding your value, working with brands, building professional relationships, creating new revenue opportunities, and thinking like a business owner without losing the creativity that made you want to create in the first place.
I still love cosplay, gaming, performing, conventions, and bringing ridiculous ideas to life. Now I’m just combining all of those experiences into something bigger: building tools, sharing knowledge, and helping other creators turn what they love into real opportunities.
